Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett has declared August 27, 2016 as “Family Safety and Preparedness Day” for citizens of Knox County. Yesterday, Mayor Burchett presented a proclamation to Katrina Tyler, chair of this year’s Family Safety and Preparedness Fair. The fair encourages everyone to take steps to prepare for emergencies and disasters in their homes, schools, organizations, businesses and communities. The event will take place at World’s Fair Park from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. August 27th. The fair is FREE to the public and offers educational opportunities, interactive exhibits, classes, emergency vehicles on display, a Kid Zone, and food trucks.
